ON THE WINGS OF A DRAGON

"Blue Dragon" by Suzanna Leigh
This is the year of the Dragon in Chinese astrology, occupying the fifth position,  a mighty one,  passionate, independent and adventurous, much like fiery Aries, the sign that ushers in Spring and new beginnings. We at Vashon Intuitive Arts are busy planting seeds for many events and workshops as we plan our Second Year Anniversary, which will be held on May 12th. Stay posted for more on that later....
How appropriate then, that we would be hosting our April Artist of The Month, Suzanna Leigh, whose subject will be, you guessed it, Dragons! "I used to fear Dragons, especially the Dragon inside. I kept my own internal Dragon submerged deep inside my subconsious", says Suzanna, which inspired her to explore the world of Dragon myth through her illustrations and stories. We are very excited to learn about Dragon energy!
Stop in on first Friday on your gallery cruise and get fired up!

The Ascended Masters

Ascended Masters refers to a group of enlightened beings who were once ordinary humans, but are now spiritually assisting the people of the Earth on the path to embody the wisdom of the ages in this incarnation and beyond, guiding and uplifting humanity towards much needed profound transformation.

What Is Kabbalah?

There are many "fruits" on the tree that is Kabbalah. Here is one in the words of our Rabbi:

"In the Holy Kabbalah,
Keter Crowning Binah is Humility Crowning Understanding.
****
How do we Crown Understanding in our Sacred Self? We must Return to the Realm of Silence, to the Temple of Stillness: that Dwelling Place of Presence where we Humbly become the Listener. To Humbly Understand, we must be Willing not only to Hear the Soul of Another, we must be Willing to Listen and Receive into our Being what is Being Offered to Us. To Humbly Understand, Return to the Ancient Reservoir and draw from the WellSpring of Reception.
****
~ All of Us desire to be Understood ~
We Crown Understanding when We offer it as a gift to One Another. We Crown Understanding when We Sacrifice selfish desires upon the Altar of Selflessness. For the Sake of Humbly Understanding Another, We overcome our desire to be right: instead, We become Light.... Pure Water We Are when we become the Reflective Pool in which Another is seen for the Quiddity of Who and What they Are. We Humbly and Empathically Crown Understanding when We Love Our Neighbor As Ourselves. For the Humble and the Wise Understand that the Essence of Us Each is the Essence of Us All...."

Rabbi Aljah Navy will be holding a workshop with the Vashon Intuitive Arts community this Saturday, March 10th from 2-4pm, the cost is $40.00.

VASHON INTUITIVE ARTS IS HONORING THE SACRED GIFT OF INTUITION!
Visit our web page for Calendar of Events

Marcia McKinzie, March Artist of the Month, graces our walls with her remarkable view of flowers, roosters and this gorgeous butterfly! Come in and have a look for yourself, close up and personal. Her watercolor batik on rice paper pieces are available for purchase.

"Butterfly"

Marcia's Butterfly brings to mind a feature that we will be covering on these pages about animal "medicine". When a certain animal appears in our life, one that we are drawn to, or in one of our dreams, they are messengers. Notice how and when in your life a certain animal comes to your awareness.

Gazing upon this butterfly is a reminder of Spring around the corner, and the month of March preparing us for Winter closure. We begin to awaken from our "cocoons", stretch, move and fly!
Butterfly also reminds us to take life a little less seriously, notice color in the world, and experience each moment joyfully. It also symbolizes change and transformation. Butterfly medicine teaches us that growth does not have to be harsh, we can do it gently and sweetly!

From Art and Jewelry by Ginny Ciszek

The butterfly is a fragile creature who reminds us that life is to be celebrated often within the relatively short-lived time that we spend on Earth as we flit about to and fro.
Butterly reminds us to dance!

Speaking of dance, VIA is featuring "Dances of Universal Peace" on March 24th, from 7pm-8:30.
 More details to follow!!!

Who are these Beautiful Ladies?

These are the WONTU (Women On Now Time United).

Lorna Cunningham (top left, back row), leads the group with her magical, intuitive, knowledgeable and nurturing spirit. The group meets on the first Sunday of the Month from 1-4pm, and has grown each time, with an attraction so compelling that some are traveling from across the waters!

This is a unique circle of sharing, empowering, relating, and clarifying. It is for women desirous of community to come to a place for transformation, benefiting the individual and the collective consciousness. It is a group for self-discovery,  knowledge and wisdom.

This Sunday's subject was Archetypes. Archetypal knowledge, according to Caroline Myss, is "the lens through which to see your life and everyone's and everything in it. It is becoming aware of your agenda. The more enlightened you become about why you do what you do, you learn that consciousness is choice, and the more you ask yourself what the lesson of the archetype is, you examine your patterns and make better choices."

We learned so much about ourselves and the others in the room. The ladies had an instant rapport, bonding and honoring eachother, laughing often! Learning, laughter, prayer, music: these will always be part of our gathering. Bring something of yours that is significant to you to place on the Alter. The suggested donation is $10.00 and includes refreshments.
Singing bowls and drum meditation are a treat from Lorna. We welcome all to enhance our gathering!
